Artist's Statement & About The Artwork

Jeri McElroy uses natural and found objects to create a variety of works with an underlying theme of the beauty of the environment, highlighted by encounters between worlds, real and imagined. Her art draws on freedom and movement - the grace of sea craft, light catching and reflecting on surfaces - and takes inspiration from discoveries and the half-hidden beauties revealed by a journey through the outback.

Having lived in London, India, and The Netherlands she has been resident in the mid-north coast since 2006, and has held numerous exhibitions in Leiden (The Netherlands), London, and various local galleries including the Taree regional gallery, as well as selling to numerous private collectors. She is a member of the Wallambah art group.
